I have admired Jada for a long time now, from the outside looking in she seems to capture what I want to have one day. Success in my career, a loving relationship with my husband and a family. Somewhow she manages to do it all. Which gives me hope that it isn’t impossible. Having ambition as a woman is sometimes frowned up, I am extremely ambitious as well and I will never give that up for anything in the world.

Every Sunday you know by now, I make a weekly playlist. Today, I received a message from one of your dedicated readers and supporters @MsHoneyG (on twitter). When I saw this, this morning I thought to myself that this was the realest quote on love I had read. The fact is that love doesn’t hurt, loving is the good part, it’s the other parts that are a cause of love that hurt. Think about it, when you truly love, it is the greatest feeling, isn’t it? Think of all the relationships where you share love, or love or are loved. Whether that love is for a friend, family member, love interest, when you love selflessly that feeling is nothing but good. Reading this made me notice that we must be careful with the words that we label as love, or attribute to love. By making these statements, we make statements that are untrue and form beliefs in statements that are incorrect.  You may have had a trying relationship with someone, that left you alone, hurt, rejected maybe. All those feelings of hurt were not caused by love. The love you shared is what you long for because it made you feel so great.

“You cannot fix a problem if you are unwilling to address it” – Me

Last night, I was catching up with a friend who was complaining about all these things going wrong. So I asked him “Did you address any of these concerns?” , he replied “NO”. So, how did he think he was going to solve his problems. Then I thought to myself, I also have done this many times complained about all these problems and not done a damn thing about it. If you have a problem, issue or concern the only way to free yourself from it is to address it head on. Easier said then done, but I will make a point to try to apply my own advice more often.

Music has a way of healing my pain.  Earlier this week, I was sent an advanced copy of this album LOVE IT. Please make sure to go purchase it next week when it is in stores. I will be buying a copy. There surely isn’t anymore music that touches your soul, like Sade. When I heard the album, I loved all the songs but was particularly moved by a song called “In Another Time”. I felt it was speaking to me directly, regarding my pain, regarding the sadness that I carry with me.  I can’t even highlight a specific lyric that I like the most, THE WHOLE SONG, sings for me.  A clip of the song is below as well as the lyrics.
