I think my 2 top rules go hand in hand, CONFIDENCE IS KEY!! and never show desperation. confidence is attractive to both male and females in the dating world, the same applies for your clients. if you are confident in your work they will pick up on it. same goes for desperation, if you act desperate and take whatever offer is thrown at you then you wont end up with the results you know you could have gotten but if you act like its not business (or a relationship) you need but something you would like then it makes all the difference in the world.

Of course like everything else there are limitations and you have to make sure you dont come off as being a bitch or too arrogant.

My dating rule turned career rule is be careful what you reveal on the first date. If you launch into a what’s what of your life on the first date you usually overwhelm the man sitting on the other side of the table. Same with coworkers (either your superiors or direct reports). You must be careful what you reveal in terms of personal life, political views, observations about the office staff, etc. Keep your opinions to yourself and careful discern what you should be offering as statements, advice or personal stories to others in the beginning. Treat your first few months on a job like the first date.

I think my dating rule would have to be: No Talking About Past Relationships.

I’ve been with my mate for almost 10 years now, so I think that rule has worked!
