Seeing that Thanksgiving weekend is upon us in Canada, I thought it was important to highlight the importance of being thankful. I am strong believer that if you don’t take time to be thankful for what you have, then you will be unable to receive more goodness. No matter how big or small, it is important to recognize the people and things that contribute to making us who we are.
Take a moment this weekend, if you are in Canada, to think about what you are thankful for.
Here are a few things I am thankful for: (in no particular order)
- God who always walks beside me even when I forget
- My family for always keeping me grounded
- My friends for being my family away from home
- My job for keeping me employed
- For all the times I think I have hit rock bottom and wake up to a new day and a new opportunity to excel
- The fire inside of me that doesn’t let me give up
- The roof over my head
- My clothing
- The food that is provided for me
- The present, the past as they have made me who I am
I leave you with some music, “Be thankful for what you’ve got” William De Vaughn.
