Yes, and I would say its unfortunate, but sometimes the season is over, and sometimes people bring things into your life that you don’t want or need. For me it was chaos, drama and betrayal…no thanks…But I didn’t just go mute, I told them my reasons, and bowed out gracefully.

Soooooooo true, it is much harder than ending a romatic relationship, especially if there was a lot of history. The ones that end on their own are easier to deal with. Where they friends that you knew for a long time? did that make it harder for you to end the friendship?

Were those friends also friends with other friends of yours? If so how did it affect those other friendships?

Breaking up with a friend is much, much harder than ending a romantic relationship. I’ve had friendships kind of fizzle out in the past, and I think those are the easiest ones to let go. I’ve also had friendships that have spontaneously combusted. All fire and bad feelings, and those are terrible to deal with.

I think regardless of how the friendship ends, the best thing to remember is that it must have ended for a reason. And if, after some time has passed, you realize that there may, indeed, still be a spark of friendship there, you can always rekindle it.
