Wednesday night I was talking to a guy on the phone, we are getting to know each other. So far so good. Conversation is flowing, then out of nowhere we start talking about travelling and I express to him that I want to take a lot of trips in 2010.

Here is how the convo. went:

Guy: “Are you going to take me with you on your trips ?”

ME: “UH NO !?!”    I mean I just started talking to this guy, why would I bring him on trips, besides I have never brought a guy on a trip with me before. Surely if I was in a serious relationship with someone I would take them on a trip.

final penelope

“The most important lesson I’ve learned in this business is how to say no. I have said no to a lot of temptations, and I am glad I did.”

-Penelope Cruz

I have to agree on that one. I was never a yes woman, however when it came to business I thought it was a good thing to always say yes and be up for the challenge. Problem is, there are only so many hours in a day, so there is only so much you can do. That being said, saying yes to everything may very well compromise not only your integrity but also your time. It’s ok to say no in business, you don’t always have to say yes. I find that people respect you a lot more as well when they see that you are grounded, and know what works for you from what doesn’t.

Music carries me through my broken heel moments, for that reason I share all this music with you. For those days where you just want to tune everything out, you can come here, press play on a playlist and escape. Yesterday it was announced that the Queen Sade, would FINALLY be making a return. I have missed her so much, as I am sure many of you have.  February 8th, is the proposed date for the release of “Soldier Of Love”, which will mark 10 years since her last album. This is apparently the cover for the album. I love it, it captures the essence of Sade in one image.  Almost looks like a painting.
