I have a lot of Haitian friends that have been affected by the earthquake. Some of them still not being able to reach their family members to know if they are ok.  I sat with them and prayed last night, and waited hoping to hear some positive news.  The tragedy of this event is unimaginable, I have been told, for someone who has never been to Haiti. However, what I did notice after the sad news is the unity that people had, suddenly messages of prayer were going out to Haiti from several parts of the world. People were getting together, to do what they could. I was then reminded of Haiti’s slogan “L’Union Fait La Force” which means “Strenght Through Unity”, what a just statement for all the people that gathered to help. I was amazed to see that within hours people of different cultural backgrounds, different religions all gathered for the greater cause of helping the nation of Haiti get back on its feet. I was inspired ! I was inspired to live my life with a purpose.
