Cupid has a sense of humor, that I am sure of. I had no plans for Valentines day, didn’t even expect to do anything. He called Saturday, asked to take me to dinner and dancing… Sure I said, sounds like fun. I had no expectations of this being a Valentines celebration, until he came to my door with chocolate dipped strawberries and a bottle of wine. That was nice of him I thought, but still I didn’t think of it as anything more than going for some food. I haven’t known him long enough to deem this a Valentines date.
Off we go to the restaurant, while we are outside the restaurant the hostess asks “Music or no music?” to which I am confused, I have never been asked that before. So I answer “Music”. I turn to him and say “Oh they have a live band here, that’s fun”, he replies “Yeah, I think a girl I used to date is singing, maybe. Let’s hope not that would be awkward.”
You know what comes next right. The hostess walks us to our table, ten feet away from the band. My date looks over to me and says “It is her how awkward”. You can only imagine what was going through my head, as I tried to keep a straight face. It is very easy for my emotions to be displayed on my face. We sit and begin to talk and she starts singing all these sad love songs, which lead me to believe they are all directed at him, which I am sure they were. The song titles and lyrics float from “Missing you, Call me, I still love you, Be Mine Forever, Come back to me, Never leave your side” . I found out that she still loves him and he left her hanging without an answer. *PUKE IN MY MOUTH*. So can you imagine how she must feel, to randomly see him there with another woman. He even went to say hi to her, at which point I wasn’t sure how to feel about this whole story. This was probably one of the most quiet dinners I have ever had.
Can you say Broken Heel Moment… I can’t stop laughing at how funny this story was.
