Oh how I love thee Erykah Badu music. She is set to release 6th album on March 30th titled NEW AMERYKAH PART TWO: RETURN OF THE ANKH. I had the pleasure today of hearing some of the album and all I can say is INSTANT LOVE ! My fav. tracks on the album are: “Gone Baby, don’t be long”, “Fall in love (Your funeral)”, ”Incense”. She delivers on everything we expect her too, smooth, soul grooving, mellow, beat bumping, head nodding music. I love Erykah because she has always dared to be who she is, never conforming to what people wanted her to be. I respect that about her the most. She maintains integrity through her career as a beautiful musician and lyricist.
I saw her live a few years ago, and although I was already a fan I was blown away by her all around talent. She is also one of the artists featured in These Heels Were Made For Walking contest, you can enter to win a chance to see her live in LA or NYC.
I read a press release today for the album and I thought this part was so well written I had to share:
