Thursday afternoon, I got a phone call from a client of mine from MTL who works for a PR company, she needed help securing an artist to appear the Official Canadian launch for Affliction in Montreal, Friday. (Yes the next day) This event was massive and a big deal as it was also UFC weekend in MTL and they had GSP hosting the event. I am not sure how I did it but I waved my magic wand, and secured Massari to come down. Still I wasn’t sure if he was going to Montreal or not, it’s now Friday 12pm, I packed my stuff just in case. While I am checking my email I get the word that we are heading out on a 3pm flight Friday, returning Saturday on a 12pm flight.

I can’t even begin to share with you my excitement, any opportunity to go back to Montreal, my home, even for a short period is exciting. I rush to the airport, board the flight and as my flight is taking off I think to myself “Who’s life is this anyway?” since when do I leave on such short notice, for a few hours. Meh ! I was glad and smiling from ear to ear. When we got to the airport we had a driver waiting for us, who took us to our hotel at the magnificent  Sofitel Hotel in Montreal, a luxury hotel. It’s just beautiful ! I was checking in the talent and making sure he was ok, since I am from Montreal, I didn’t expect or want a room, I thought I would go hang with some friends and fam for the night.  Checking the talent in, only to find out that there is a room for me. Again imagine the look on my face, still thinking “Who’s life is this anyway?” . I walk into my room as was taken away, gorgeousness all over. I only had a about 5 hours til the event, so I went to eat some food at Reuben’s with a colleague of mine from our Montreal office. (more after the image)

Get back to the hotel, after dinner, SUPER EXCITED to be living someone else’s life.  lol Meet with the talent in the lobby, where our driver was waiting for us and GSP was walking out of the hotel. The artist was super happy cause he got to take a picture with GSP at the hotel. I don’t think he remembered that GSP was going to be at the party we were going to.  lol I was trying to BBM my bestie to tell her I was in MTL and she is a huge UFC fan I am not, she basically replied all swear words, lol cause she wished she was there.  Trying to soak up the moment, and the feelings.  We pull up to Buonanotte and it exceeded my expectations ! What a well crafted event, there were Harley Davidson bikes lined up on the side of the street, there were models in the window modelling the Affliction line, the event was fully catered with delicious food.  It was such a great event ! To top it off, we are sitting in our area with VIP and his folks, he was such a great guy. I got to see a lot of my clients I hadn’t seen in a long time, some I had never even met face to face even after years of working with them.

This whole time still thinking to myself, I need to make the most of this night, I am going back to Toronto tomorrow morning.  Once the artist was ready to go back home, I asked the driver to take me to another club to meet with some of my Montreal friends.

It really felt like I borrowed someone’s life for a few hours, I tried it on, I liked it but I had to return it at 10 am the next day, when the driver was coming to pick us up to take us to the airport. *SIGH* It wasn’t mine to keep YET !

I know this is a long post, but all this to say, how often do you get a glimpse of the lifestyle you would like to have. I got a taste and I want this always, I am not talking about travelling, I am talking about connecting with clients and doing work in other markets with them.
