I have always wanted to adopt a child (maybe children) since I was a child myself. I couldn’t fathom the thought that some children had to grow up without a family, without anyone to care for them. As I grew older and saw that this was a global problem, I knew that I wouldn’t change my mind.

In the past decade, we have seen a more increased number of celebrities adopting children. Some people are against it, I am all for it. Regardless of their reasons for doing it, as we all sit here and judge their motives, they are actually bettering the life of a child (in most cases). I don’t care who adopts these children, as long as they are fit to care for children, in my eyes its one less child growing up without a family. What are your thoughts on celebrities adopting children?

My only concern with celebrities adopting children from other cultures, is hoping that those children still learn their heritage and culture, regardless of if their adopted parents are of that culture. I think that is the most important part of the process. You don’t want to uproot a child from their culture completely. I think from there would stem much bigger problems.

Someone asked me the other day what race would the child be that I would adopt. I have no preference. When thinking of adopting a child and wanting to give them a better future, I don’t think of selecting which race I prefer, children are children. As far as I am concerned, they all need love, and there are way too many children out there who are without love.

We have an adopted child in our family, for several years now and we are all so happy to have him in our family. He is a part of our family in every sense, and I feel that he was given a better opportunity then his previous family could have given him.

What are your thoughts on adoption? Just curious to know your thoughts, and if any of you have any experience with adoption. I have recently started doing more research about it, and educating myself on the process. Your thoughts are welcomed.
