I have had an interaction with someone this past week, that left me thinking that every woman knows a woman like this.
You know the one, who feels she is always competing with everyone. She talks your ear off about her latest adventure, latest career anecdote, her latest love story. She never stops speaking long enough to ask how you are, if only to ask you a question to make her seem as though she has the upper hand.

I was eating at the restaurant with a friend of mine when I spotted her – Tracy. I was hoping she didn’t see me but of course she did, as she marched on over huge smile on her face. Does not introduce herself to my guest and starts rambling:

Tracy : Oh my goodness its so good to see you, how have you been. My boyfriend and I, well actually my fiancee and I always come here. (flashing her ring) Do you come here often? Do you have a boyfriend? Engaged? I have been so busy with work dealing with these high profile clients, I am telling you people have no idea what its like to deal with these luxury brands. I am so lucky not to be working with `regular` brands can you imagine.

(Start the queue to her rambling as I sit there in silence, smiling, nodding. Wondering if please for the love of all things great, please she would stop talking long enough so that I could at least excuse myself from this overbearing Tracy one woman show.)

I wonder if she notices that she carries herself this way, and that no one has the energy or patience to listen to her anymore. Whenever she speaks to me, I feel she is trying to show me up. Hmmm….

Can you say broken heel moment
