So it’s all about Chelsea, Chelsea lately… I just finished her latest book Chelsea Chelsea Bang Bang, and I haven’t read her past two books. I have been told that the last two are much better.

As I breezed through the first chapter, I was in stitches at the style of writing she uses, it was much like watching her on tv instead this time you got to read it and imagine her telling the stories. She is a very entertaining character and this book of short essays proves it. I can’t say that I would put it in my favourite book list, but it was an entertaining read nonetheless.

What I found really funny was in a part of the book, Chelsea argues her point to death with her partner Ted about wanting a dolphin for their fish tank. She insisted over and over as though it was even possible for a human being to have a dolphin indoors. I later came to see when I continued reading the book that she enjoys playing pranks on people and Ted seems to be the butt of her jokes many times.

What was even more surprising is from the jump in the first chapter Chelsea talks about discovering masturbation at a young age, although it was quite entertaining I kept waiting for the punch line. Even when she discussed her family, I didn’t really feel that I got to know them in detail or with any substance. When reading this book, if you go into it thinking you are going to laugh your ass off at how funny she is, then you have got the right mindset. If you go into reading this book thinking you are going to find some deep side of Chelsea Handler that you haven’t seen on television think again. I guess that is why I found it entertaining, I expected it to be just as she is on television, full of jokes. If you are looking for a book to make you laugh endlessly at how silly she can be, and how many ridiculous pranks she likes to create for her friends and staff, then this is the book for you.

We are giving away copies of the book – read how you can win one here.
