Maintain is defined by the Merriam Webster Dictionnary as:

to keep in an existing state (as of repair, efficiency, or validity) : preserve from failure or decline


On the path to self-renewal I picked up new habits, I started incorporating them into my life. I noticed changes and I started healing. They key thing not to forget once these new habits is forming is that it is very key to maintain them. Its easy to start getting complacent in new habits, thinking we have it under control now and we can take it lightly.

It is very important to maintain those habits, stay reminded of the goal, remind yourself of the hard work and determination it took you, as well as the discipline you have learned.

I started going to the gym regularly, I started a new University course, I am dedicated to working on myself, I am also actively participating more in volunteering opportunities. It’s working, I am seeing the changes everyday. I am also aware that as I am sharing with you, keeping those new habits for a lifetime means you have to continue working on them for a lifetime. They will not magically remain staples in your everyday life without you continuing to put in that same effort.

When you feel like you are forgettin to maintain, remember the first day you took up that new habit and how proud you were a week later, 2 weeks later, 3 weeks later.
