Today is an important day for Salvatore Ferragamo, the brand has launched a new viral project titled The W List, which revolves around the fall 2010 reissue of the well known W handbag (seen above). This project will note the redesign of the Ferragamo website as well as showcasing the new shopping experience online. The “digital jet-set” campaign is Salvatore Ferragamo’s first attempt at social media and creating an interactive campaign for fans to create their own content. A few taste makers were chosen: bloggers, artists, actors and fashion designers – to launch the start of the project. They each share their story on style, travel or anything else that may have proven to be inspiring to them. Some of the featured contributors include: Barbara Bush, Selita Ebanks to name a few.
This contest is also open to anyone, you can enter too ! Take a look at the site enter your own story, and vote for your favorite. In 60 days a winner will be chosen and win the fantastic opportunity of having a custom made Salvatore Ferragamo – Creative Director, Massimiliano Giornetti will draw from the most popular inspirational story to create a one-of-a-kind W bag, gifted to the W list winner. Runners up will be the first to receive the Spring/Summer 2011 limited edition W bag along with one user, at random, whose story personally inspires Giornetti. The winners will be announced on January 22nd, commencing a 60 day program.
