Dust off your flat irons because next season’s hair styles are all about sleek silhouettes & sheen. I had the pleasure of attending the launch of Sassoon Salon’s latest hair designs geared towards Spring/ Summer 2011. Creative directors Lorraine McAndrew and John Beeson were on hand to present the new looks. The collection is all about refined shapes, bold contrasts between hair & skin and lends hint of mystery & sexual allure.

Demi Monde really illustrates the importance of having the perfect hair canvas. Brassai’s provocative photographs taken in Paris during the 1920’s inspired the looks.

Multiple colours were applied throughout the hair (interior & exterior) but with minimal distinction. The result is an underlying shimmer from underneath. This was juxtaposed against the models’ structured lingerie-inspired dresses that carry on the theme of mystery.
