Britney Spears is beautiful. Not everyone agrees. But then again, who cares? When your net worth is so high and your music videos play out like 4-minute ads for everything from Bulgari to Makeup Forever, a few haters don’t matter. Even at her worst, and it’s hard to deny those gut-wrenching low points in her life– everything Britney touches turns to gold.

But when it comes to fashion spreads, she’s had some big misses. Huge actually. For instance her harajuku-inspired feature on POP magazine (see below) shot by Takashi Murakami playing out a “Baby One More Time” fantasy wasn’t effective. It was disturbing.

Then, the highly anticipated cover for the fashion cult bible V, shot by Mario Testino, also played off her lost innocence and was weak. The only one with royal fierceness is her spread with OUT magazine shot by Ruven Afanador. Rather than playing off the woman-girl cliché, the black and white images show a woman who’s had a hard life, but is as bad as she wants to be. Which in this case, is exactly the point.

Real life pictures don’t do Britney any justice. She’s radiant. After two kids, broken marriages – not to mention spirits – medication and everything in between, she’s stunning. And she’s under 30. She’s too young and too good to loose the fierce factor. And it shows “I want to spank her!” said Rihanna after remixing her S&M single with her. Nicki Minaj said the only collaboration she wants to do is with Britney. And it looks like she got her wish and more: she’s opening for the singer on her Femme Fatale tour.

Britney has come far and beyond. She’s mastered the art of titillating both male and fashion fantasies. So here’s to you, Britney. Give it a go, one more time.
