Courage allows the successful woman to fail- and learn powerful lessons-from the failure- so that in the end, she didn’t fail at all.
- Maya Angelou

When chasing your dreams, I have learned the most important lesson EARLY ! You cannot be afraid of failure. I struggled with this a lot as I was so afraid to fail that I made myself anxious with the thought of failing. Somehow, I associated failing with negativity. With time, I came to learn that failure is only negative if you look at it that way. When you muster up the courage to undertake something, you have to be willing to fail, if only to learn from it and get back up again. It’s inevitable. Failure can be very positive if you chose to see it in that light. With every failure, there is a lesson to be learned. There is an opportunity to grow and to improve. Just like Dr. Maya Angelou demonstrates in this quote, if you learn to see your failures as an opportunity to grow, then you have never failed.

Very great quote !!!

One of my many favorite poems by Dr. Maya Angelou. Enjoy !

Alone by Dr. Maya Angelou

Lying, thinking
Last night
How to find my soul a home
Where water is not thirsty
And bread loaf is not stone
I came up with one thing
And I don’t believe I’m wrong
That nobody,
But nobody
Can make it out here alone.

Alone, all alone
Nobody, but nobody
Can make it out here alone.

There are some millionaires
With money they can’t use
Their wives run round like banshees
Their children sing the blues
They’ve got expensive doctors
To cure their hearts of stone.
But nobody
No, nobody
Can make it out here alone.

Alone, all alone
Nobody, but nobody
Can make it out here alone.

Now if you listen closely
I’ll tell you what I know
Storm clouds are gathering
The wind is gonna blow
The race of man is suffering
And I can hear the moan,
‘Cause nobody,
But nobody
Can make it out here alone.

Alone, all alone
Nobody, but nobody
Can make it out here alone.

Another one of my favorite poems by Dr. Maya Angelou…  Enjoy

Phenomenal Woman by Dr. Maya Angelou

Pretty women wonder where my secret lies.
I’m not cute or built to suit
a fashion model’s size
But when I start to tell them,
They think I’m telling lies.
I say,
It’s in the reach of my arms
The span of my hips,
The stride of my step,
The curl of my lips.
I’m a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That’s me.
,
The swing in my waist,
And the joy in my feet.
I’m a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That’s me.
sun of my smile,
The ride of my breasts,
The grace of my style.
I’m a woman

I walk into a room
Just as cool as you please,
And to a man,
The fellows stand or
Fall down on their knees.
Then they swarm around me,
A hive of honey bees.
I say,
It’s the fire in my eyes,
And the flash of my teeth

Men themselves have wondered
What they see in me.
They try so much
But they can’t touch
My inner mystery.
When I try to show them
They say they still can’t see.
I say,
It’s in the arch of my back,
The

Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That’s me.

Now you understand
Just why my head’s not bowed.
I don’t shout or jump about
Or have to talk real loud.
When you see me passing
It ought to make you proud.
I say,
It’s in the click of my heels,
The bend of my hair,
the palm of my hand,
The need of my care,
‘Cause I’m a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That’s me.
