If you aren’t familiar yet with the sounds of Florence + The Machine, you must have been sleeping under a rock. It’s ok though we are gonna try to put you up to speed. Florence was raised in south London, her early memories of singing were singing to Nina Simone and Dusty Springfield. I feel that his album mixes various types of music together, but pull it all with the common thread of emotion. Florence + The Machine is awesome music, not only does it sounds good but you gotta give it to Florence for writing most of her songs when she is drunk or hungover. She says that’s when she feels the most “free” I can dig that lol. If you are wondering who The Machine are they are the crazy 7 piece band behind her including long-term collaborators Rob Ackroyd (guitar), Chris Hayden (drums), Isabella Summers (keyboards) and Tom Monger (harp). Her debut album is called “Lungs” its got tons of great songs, you can hear some harps, drums, weird electronic wailing, sounds weird but it comes together nicely. I will share with you my favorite below.
Florence + The Machine is also part of our These Heels Were Made For Walking contest.
