I took a road trip to NYC this past weekend with the ladies. My girl Jessica posted about the trip on her blog and I decided to post it on here since it was so cute !!! Check out her blog Jess And Thou  I LOVE the fact that the theme song is MARY cause we played Mary the whole trip all her albums. lol LOVE YA JESS ! I should also take a moment to say, that on this trip Jess taught me the power of positive thinking. She’s got it down to a T.

Complete conviction: a rare occurance, but when it occurs, you know. Lately, I have had about two of these feelings. One of which will not be shared until there is a confirmation, but the second I will disclose.

On the weekend I went to New York with my beautiful friends. We had a blast. Obviii, its NYC. What is it about that town (loose term) that captivates you entirely? Not sure, but what I am sure of, is that I got to make my way down there. Read more…

I have a lot of guy friends, always grew up with a lot of guy friends. When it comes to guy friends, and their girlfriends it has always been a tricky situation. Somehow, they always think that we are more than friends, when that isn’t the case. In the past, I made zero effort to get to know my guy friend’s girlfriends. Sounds mean, but really I knew it was never serious. Also, whenever we were introduced they always gave me a serious side eye, as if they never really trust that we are just friends. I normally ignore it, and them. Now, as I am getting older I am realizing that some of my guy friends, and I have very close friendships, and if they are in a relationship that makes them happy, the least I can do is make the effort to get to know their girlfriends. I have never done this before by the way, however I figured it is the grown woman thing to do. I mean, I rather do that then be in an awkward situation where we have nothing to say to each other, and you label me the B*TCH cause you have heard so much about me, yet still I have never reached out to you.

Everyone has their own definition to the perfect life, that’s a given. Let me define the definition I am referring to, for the purpose of this post. Do you know a woman who is currently living the perfect life: in love with a man who is head over heels for her, in a serious committed relationship (either married or headed there), settling down with the perfect man. How many women actually have that picture perfect life?  Everyone has their own definition, this is the one I am using for this post.

I heard a story the other day, about a girl who was madly in love with a man who was madly in love with her. They had been together for 5 years, gotten engaged. He got a job abroad in Greece, and she still had a job in Canada. Shipped all her stuff to Greece to live with him, they were shopping for their first home. At first glance, all her friends thought she had the perfect life. Just as she was about to quit her job, and move to Greece to be with her fiance, and live this perfect life he broke up with her. It was sudden, out of nowhere she said. He was short, just said they no longer should be together, and he would be shipping all her stuff back.

I have broken up with friends in the past, many times actually. It doesn’t help that I have moved a lot in my life, which has forced me to let go of many friends in my life. Sometimes it was my fault, sometimes it was their fault. Regardless, it sucks.

My best friend Naomi and I had a falling out once. We actually stopped talking for about 2 years. When it first happened I cried, I felt alone. My sidekick was gone. I don’t even know how we broke it off. All I know is we weren’t talking anymore and there was a huge empty void in my life. Impossible to find someone to fill the shoes of your best friend again.

to-do-list-280x300

Part 1 : Making lists

I was sick today, but took some time to work on myself. As I previously wrote, I am making a commitment to work on myself.  Setting new habits, kicking out the old with the new. I signed up for the gym, got myself a trainer, and even did my first pilates class last night. There are definitely some habits that were not contributing to me feeling better. SO, out with the old. Do you do this as well, setting new habits? What do you do to get over your broken heel moments? Do you have those?
