This has been by far one of my most challenging years. I lost my relationship and my job in one big blow and had to get through all the emotional turmoil that came along with that, of course all while having to take care of my girls. Even when I was at my worst though I knew that I was becoming a better and stronger woman in the process, ladies we are capable of withstanding more blows then we are given credit for. Sometimes an emotional and mental blow can weigh and hurt a ton more then a physical one. I have now come to accept my separation and the fact that he is not coming back and I’m OK with that, I won’t lie though, I still need my closure. It still hurts like hell. I feel like its time for me to renew myself, leave that woman I was while with him in the past and just carry the lessons learned and the positivity forward with me. Read more…

I watched a great movie called One Week staring Joshua Jackson. I saw this film when it was in the theatres but I rented it again. It’s a great film that asks you all hard questions about life. Joshua Jackson’s character, Ben is terminally ill with stage 4 Cancer. He decides not to have treatment right way and go on a motorcycle road trip across Canada. His fiancés doesn’t agree with his decision. Ben just wants to see Canada and live his life in the present. It’s one of those movies that teach you life lessons. What would you do if the doctor told you only had a day, a week or a month to live? What would you do? It makes you think about living everyday to fullest and how each day is a gift. I recommend this movie to anyone. It reminds you how beautiful our country Canada is and helps recharge your soul too.

Here is a clip of the movie Read more…

“Out of my hands = Out of my my mind” – wise friend

Last night I was speaking to a friend of mine, who shared these words with me and I thought -WOW That is easy. If I just lived by this quote everyday I would be ok. Why do we spend time worrying about things we can’t control?! That quote really puts things into perspective for me, and I will surely start to apply it in my life. Can’t wait to see it work ! I felt better just hearing that.

I haven’t always made the decisions that others thought I should have in my life, but I made decisions that I thought at the time were the best for me.  I was content when I made those decisions, even if everyone else thought I was out of my mind. I was happy to follow my own instinct and create my own path.

Last week, I had a conversation with my mother and it made me think about things. Her and I have had a difficult relationship in the past, which after years I learned to forgive. I have also learned to understand and accept that she will not always say the right things. Often times she uses words that cut me like a sword, but she doesn’t realize the impact of the words she chooses.

With time, I have learned not to react to her harsh words, and instead calmly try to explain to her how they make me feel. Last week she said to me in a conversation “You have made no forward progress in your life, you are getting old now and I think you should rethink your life over, and think about all the bad decisions you keep making” Read more…

Thought For The Day
Make the Most of Where You Are
By Author Unknown

Wherever you are, be there fully.
For where you are is where you can most effectively act and live.

If you’re constantly wishing that you were somewhere else, you diminish the opportunities for where you are now.
When your thoughts are in another place or time, your actions lose much of their effectiveness.

It’s great to dream, to plan, to aspire, to reach for new and improved circumstances.
And yet the way to successfully do that is by being the best you can be in the place where you now find yourself.

It’s great to keep yourself focused on an ambitious goal.
And that focus is the most effective when it is crafted from the perspective of where you are now.

To successfully travel the path from here to there, you must start with being fully here.
The more you give your attention and energy to making the most of where you are, the more quickly you’ll move along that path.

There is much to be accomplished, much to be lived in every place and in every moment.
Be there fully for all of them, and life will be rich indeed.

(not my actual vision board)

What’s your life road map look like?

I’m always signing up for seminars, workshops and on-line courses.  I’m very excited about learning and always inspired to make changes.  I have been working with a Feng Shui Coach since January.  I can’t believe the changes that have happened to me in such a short period of time.

One of the exercises I was asked to complete was a Vision Board.  A Vision Board is everything you want in have in your life or a visual wish list.  You use a piece of bristle board and cut out pictures of items you want in your life.  Read more…
