He can be everywhere from North America to East Asia within the week. He is THE lifestyle and fashion journalist of this digital age. It’s so hard to choose which work to highlight since it’s all the coolest: how about the bespoke Air Force 1 shoes he created with Nike? OR the Project Trade Show he does in New York City and Las Vegas? Still not convinced? There’s the Levi’s trucker jacket that should seal the deal.

There’s no shortage of evidence to attest that he’s a force to be reckoned with: he’s worked with mega-online giants Hypebeast, Details Magazine, the Converse brand (in BHDSuites), MTV Fora and most recently the Penfield U.S.A. Race for the Summit contest. He is an empiricist all on his own which is why he’s aptly named any and all of his events “The Marcus Troy Experience” and nothing could be more fitting.

He’s talented, stylish, hilarious and so real. He’s Marcus Troy and he’s our BHDude.

The BHDExperience on June 18, in our palatial suites at Hotel Le Germain went above and beyond our expectations, surpassed the long hours and strained faces plastered with smiles because we just wanted everyone to have a good time.

And guess what – they did!

Thanks again to the amazing brands that worked with us: Universal Music Canada, DAVIDsTea, Blo: Blow Dry Bar, Caryl Baker Visage, Line Knitwear, Bench Canada, Beyond the Rack, Converse, Patron XO Cafe, Fat Bastard Wineries, Giovello Prosecco and Moosehead.

Without your contributions and amazing hosting skills, we couldn’t have been as successful.

Special thanks to DJ Agile and Stephane Theriault, without whom the vibes in the room would never have been the same.

One final thank you again and again and again to Hotel Le Germain for taking care of our every need from helping unload at 8 a.m. to 3 a.m. calls for a tray of champagne glasses. We adore you, we’ll never forget your hospitality and we’ll be back soon!

I had to take a moment to reflect on the team that has put in relentless work to make this happen. We had a vision to bring together our favorite brands and influential bloggers and create a unique gifting experience. This idea is not only because we wanted to do something cool and different, but also as our team formed we realized that we all had one thing in common:  a burning desire to see things change in the industry. We took it upon ourselves to try to do something new and challenge the way things are done.

Having worked for many years on other people’s projects, it feels great to finally work on our own baby. This project took a lot of time, tons of fun meetings, quick escapades to Montreal, and great relationship building with partners who understood our idea. We formed great relationships working on this project with Bloggers, Brands and the BHD team.

Thank you to Jess my bff for always believing, Kim for being on the ball to create the vision of the idea, Katie, Andrea and Amber for all their support.

I have to thank  Ashley – she taught me two important things throughout this project – which I will always repeat. “Rock N’ Roll waits for no one” and “Dial it back”.
